In the Fall of 2014, Missoula County passed a $42 million parks and trails bond measure of which $38 million was marked for the development of Fort Missoula Regional Park. The groundbreaking celebration for phase one, the western half of the park, was held in October 2015. Phase two has just completed. The county already has several regional tournaments scheduled for the summer of 2018. The park will have a regional sporting complex of 17 fields, five miles of trails, four playgrounds, multiple picnic shelters and one larger pavillion, historic interpretation areas, tennis courts, a dog park and pond.
